How Will Marvel Bring The XMen, The Fantastic Four & The Silver Surfer into the MCU?

wallpaper-1199506Well, I have some thoughts..

Invisible Woman by Artgem (aka Stanley Lau)

Invisible Woman by Artgem (aka Stanley Lau)

The simplest explanation is not always the most fun. Yes, you could say a school of mutants has always existed in West Chester, NY, but chose not to engage in any of the world threatening struggles– boring, (and also, very unlike the X-Men to ignore such threats). And the Baxter Building has been in the Microverse the whole time? –not buying it.

Captain Marvel by Artgem (aka Stanley Lau)

Captain Marvel by Artgem (aka Stanley Lau)

You could solve it easily with time travel, via the Infinity Gauntlet, with Captain Marvel resetting the entire universe, but one of things is not like the others– enter the XMen in an end credit trailer to the deafening screams of Marvel fans (I would be one of them), as Stan Lee begins reading a copy of the Daily Bugle with Fantastic Four on the front page. This is certainly scifi plausible and would be acceptable, but I have another theory..

tumblr_np82sfbER01s88ss5o1_1280

What if..

..during the final battle with Thanos, Scarlet Witch alters reality with her magic, destroying the Infinity Stones, ceasing Thanos to have ever existed, but also inadvertently alters the reality of the universe. The previously vaporized superheroes return and BOOM the XMen now exist, and have always existed according to everyone, except Wanda. Wolverine, Rogue and SpiderWoman (Jessica Drew) are standing beside their teammates, the Avengers, The Fantastic Four can be seen far away atop the Baxter Building, and far, far away, the Silver Surfer makes a deal with Galactus to save Zenn-la.

Top 20 Best Zombie Movies & Top 5 TV Shows Recommended Watch Review List, for the Undead Apocalypse/ Zombies Fan

Even before the first zombie movie, ‘White Zombie,’ people have been obsessed with the undead; the once living, neighbors, friends, relatives, now reanimated and attempting to eat you alive. This concept may be overused in today’s culture, but it was once terrifying.

Creating a modern best of list is difficult, as “best,” to some, may mean scariest, but to others, it may mean cinematic, drama or even humorous. And to others still, it may mean general, quality movie standards of creative story telling and developed, transformative characters. This list will include all of the above and is a recommended watch list for anyone willing to see people eating other people.

TV, Top5  (– wait, are there more than 5?)

TWD2The Walking Dead‘ always deserves a mention in anything zombie, I mean, walkers, sorry Robert Kirkman. The first episode is still one of the best, created by Hollywood cinematographer, David Tatersall, and set the tone for the entire series. I wish AMC never fired him; the end of season 1 and the entirety of season could have been good. It got better, of course, and some of those episodes in season 5 and 6 were truly amazing. I personally feel, mid-Negan, the show has gone down hill and lost its appeal to many; (hoping it gets better). I spoke with Robert Kirkman, mid-season 6; he explained that ‘The Walking Dead’ is still in its first act of storytelling. Not sure how that will play out with Andrew Lincoln, ‘Rick,’ leaving the show. AMC will hang on to this show as long as possible, so maybe the overall plan is to realize the big picture story with additional spin-off series like the underwhelming ‘Fear The Walking Dead;’ just make a show about the beginning of the apocalypse, not ‘West Coast Walking Dead,’ it’s not CSI. I did, however, enjoy the brief ‘Flight 462,’ for the mere fact that you cannot escape walkers on a plane.

‘Z Nation’ is just not worth mentioning, aw crap, I mean besides now. Zombie baby, #noop.

izombie-4-sezon-ne-zaman-baslayacakCW’s ‘iZombie‘ is a happy-go-lucky tv series that is all fun and will get you to anticipate each entree Liv Moore creates in every episode. The moral of the series is don’t chase drugs with energy drinks. Or maybe it’s the living and the undead should never date?  Anyway, it’s nothing like the comic.

santa-clarita-diet-season-3-netflix-scheduleSanta Clarita Diet‘ is hysterical all the way through. (if you’re reading this from a time capsule, there are only 2 seasons so far, so I can’t speak for future seasons). What happens when a realtor, or real-a-tor, from the ‘burbs starts to crave human flesh? Does she eat her misogynistic neighbor?

MOVIES, Top20

Let’s get the comedy out of the way first..

220px-Life_After_Beth_poster   ‘Life After Beth.’ Aubry Plaza makes this film fun to watch. Unexplained zombie outbreak in suburbia.

Fido  Fido is like ‘Leave It To Beaver’ 50s style television, but with zombies, you’ll love it!

zombieland  Zombieland is a how-to guide to surviving the zombie apocalypse, with great rules to live by. Not only is it entertaining, but it’s a good film as well. I truly loved this movie.

shaun-dead.0.0  ‘Shaun of the Dead‘ is a masterful modern classic, with comedy only Edgar Wright can deliver, and overall, it’s a really good movie. Pulling the blind down to ignore the zombies was a classic scene. Also, setting the stage in the beginning, with people zoning out on the bus before the outbreak is genius. Watch and re-watch.

Drama, action, suspense & horror:

warmbodies   ‘Warm Bodies.’ If you can handle a “zo-mance,” where zombies fall in love and retain human-like qualities, with a happy ending, then this may be for you.

200px-Dodsno    ‘Dead Snow‘ (Norwegian, subtitles). Nazi zombies unearthed in Norway cause havoc. Gory action, with humor.

resident-evil-the-final-chapter-2560x1440-resident-evil-the-final-chapter-6270  ‘Resident Evil.’ The first one was clearly the best in the Milla Jovovich series, but every one is entertaining & promises the Umbrella Corporation, so cool in that regard. Yes, the game is better, but the movies will be rebooted soon and promise more Umbrella Corp, so I’ll be watching.

Rezort-Poster-27x39-copy2-Copy  ‘The Rezort.’  (I still believe ‘Last Rezort’ would have been a better title). A solid movie, with a concise a story, but rather generic. After the zombie outbreak, zombies were defeated, but not eradicated, just put on an island to shoot for recreation. It’s like Jurassic Park, but with zombies, what could go wrong?

HereAlone  ‘Here Alone.’ An indie zombie film. A woman accustomed to isolation in the woods, has her routine upended when she encounters a father and daughter. I liked how you heard the zombies throughout the film, knowing their presence was nearby, but only saw the creatures at the end.

World-war-z-poster03  ‘World War Z.’ Once bitten, you have 11 seconds before you turn. You can’t outrun the turned. If you do manage to escape into a large building, they’ll just pile themselves up a hundred feet high until they breach the building. I’m not spoiling anything am I? I feel like the plot was a little muddled, and it felt like the ending didn’t fit the rest of the film, but it did have some great scenes.

Cargo-Movie-poster  ‘Cargo‘ was a nice film about a man protecting his family. I feel like they traveled in circles the entire film. I enjoyed it, with great performances, but they didn’t follow their own zombie rules at the end.

‘I Am Legend.’ Nope, they were vampires. Yes, it was an apocalyptic movie, like ‘Stakeland,’ but, again, vampires, not zombies. The book had both ravenous zombie-like, flesh-eating vampires, as well as, civilized, societal vampires.

Maggie-review   ‘Maggie.’ Clearly the best acting performance of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s career. His daughter has been bitten and slowly turns. He comforts and connects with her and gradually lets go of his child, knowing there is nothing he can do to stop the change.

TheHorde_movieposterThe Horde‘ (Belgian, subtitles). A good film, despite its flaws. A zombie outbreak occurs during a police raid on a notorious criminal gang; they must team up in order to survive.

28weekslaterPSTER066-film-28-weeks-later-2-1000x1000  ‘28 Weeks Later.’ A good sequel to a great film.

Rammbock_movieposter  ‘Rammbock‘ (German, subtitles). The true spirit of a zombie horror flick; it’s suspenseful, scary and has cinematography that enhances the scenes.

thebattery  ‘The Battery.’ A true low-budget indie film, and one of the best on this list. It tells a story, a good story, of two former minor league baseball players, hence the bats, dealing with the end of civilization, loneliness and the need to connect with other human beings, in an apocalyptic landscape.

Ravenous_220px-Les_Affamés_film_poster  ‘Ravenous‘ (2017, there are many movie titles by this name). (French, subtitles). Really good! This movie brings suspense back to zombie films, a must-watch.

REC  Scariest, for me, on this list would go to ‘[REC]‘ (Spanish, subtitles). Other titles on this list have scary moments and overall creepiness, but this found footage horror movie is edge-of-your-seat thrilling. The American remake, ‘Quarantine,’ and both of [REC]’s sequels were not very good.

‘Dawn of the Dead.’ George Romero’s 1968 ‘Night of the Living Dead’ created the zombie film genre, and his 1978 ‘Dawn of the Dead’ perfected it. This original recipe, classic horror film sets the stage for everything zombie to follow.  The 2004 Zack Snyder ‘Dawn of the Dead’ reboot is a non-stop action film, quite different from the original; a must-watch for any zombie fan.

28-days-later-2002-poster  ‘28 Days Later.’ Danny Boyle completely changed the zombie rules, which revitalized the genre with this suspenseful film. ’28 Days’ is the first movie to depict zombies as mad, crazed-sprinters; run for your life! These zombies created so much more tension as a result. Also just one drop of infected blood can turn someone in an instant.  However, I felt the last portion of this movie was little uninteresting, compared to its thrilling beginning.

train-to-busan-commentary  ‘Train to Busan‘ is my favorite on this list. It’s a Chinese, action-thriller that is suspenseful from beginning to end. It’s everything a zombie film should be. Just watch it.

If I missed a zombie movie title that you loved, by all means, scream at me in the comments. I mean, you may get blocked, but I would love to hear your opinion, not really, but I would like to know if there is a good film that I missed or haven’t seen.

#Avengers #InfinityWar #Spoiler #review #DontRead but also #DontWorry

thanosSeriously, #spoilers ahead..

First of all, you knew this was coming. If you didn’t, you weren’t paying attention. Even in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor had a vision, in The Cave, where Thanos killed all the Avengers.

doctor_strange_featured_imageLet’s just take a look at several things Dr Stephen Strange said during the film. “I’ve examined 14million plus possibilities..” “How many of those do we win?” “Only one.” Later, he says, “There really was no other way.”

AdamWarlock-GotG2

If you put these together, Dr Strange saw the only possibility in which they won and let it play out, knowing there really was only one way to defeat Thanos, even if it was defeat in the long term. And by long term, I mean, the next Avengers movie, picking up where Guardians of the Galaxy 2 left off, “I name him ‘Adam.'” Yes, Adam Warlock, in the comics defeats Thanos, with the help of others, but it is Adam who wields the Infinity Gauntlet to defeat Thanos, also Squirrel Girl defeats Thanos, but that is another story. This also explains why Dr Strange never used The Time Stone in his fight against Thanos, like he did in his fight against Dormammu. He played the long game, the one where Thanos will be defeated for good.

4147294-jpegThis also explains why Dr Strange “allowed” Quill to get angry at Thanos, hitting him and waking him up 2 seconds too early, (Tony Stark in his Iron Man Nano Suit & Peter Parker Spider-man in his Iron Spider suit almost removed the Infinity Gauntlet, yes, they just needed 2 seconds more). So if they did succeed in removing The Gauntlet, would Thanos rise again at some later time, needing Squirrel Girl to defeat him? (again, another story..). I believe Marvel is saying Thanos would rise again and the only way to defeat Thanos for good is to let him destroy half the life of all the universe… and come back later to defeat Thanos for good.

brie-larson-captain-marvel-mar-vell-comicbookcom-1078504Captain Marvel will play a pivotal role in defeating Thanos, and removing the Gauntlet. Adam Warlock can wield it and reset the universe to how it was before Thanos, even restoring all of Asgard and Nidavellir, (the realm of the dwarves).

tumblr_np82sfbER01s88ss5o1_1280Once this happens, Wanda, the Scarlet Witch, can destroy several of the Infinity Stones and have the Avengers protect the rest. I would have Wanda destroy the Power Stone & the Reality Stone, as they are too powerful to have lying around, even The Collector could  not protect these Infinity Stones. Give the Time Stone back to Dr Strange for safe keeping and as a great defense against threats to Earth. Give the Mind Stone back to Vision, so he can become Vision again, unless Shuri can reconnect neurons and make Vision without the need for the Mind Stone. Let Thor use the Space Stone as the Tesseract again, because that was convenient, and as for the Soul Stone? I’m not sure. Definitely have Eitri melt down the Infinity Gauntlet so it can never be used again.

This is a response to all the angst on twitter right now.. (don’t worry, in two years, all the ones who disappeared at the end of the movie will be restored).

Also, Disney just used the word assh*le in a Marvel film, way to go MCU. It wasn’t even an emotional moment, just Banner in the.. Were they trying to top the last Avengers movie, with “language, Cap?”

The Cloverfield Paradox is a paradox unto itself. scifi netflix movie

‘The Cloverfield Paradox’ is an extremely well done scifi adventure movie, with amazing VFX / CGI and special FX. BUT the plot and the story could have been so SO much better; it just felt like they added unnecessary scenes to cover up the gaps in the story and major plot holes. The worst part of this movie was the plot trying to connect the previous films in this series, ‘Cloverfield’ and ’10 Cloverfield Lane.’

Cloverfield-ParadoxSPOILERS below:

‘The Cloverfield Paradox’ movie, surprised us all by dropping it on Netflix, immediately available after the Super Bowl, on the online streaming platform, skipping theatrical release. In ‘The Cloverfield Paradox,’ the time frame is set in the future to our present 2018 (mentioning this just in case someone from the future is reading this and archiving it to unravel the on-going Cloverfield Mystery). With only 5 years remaining of Earth’s oil reserve supply, a last minute, last ditch effort to save modern civilization, a particle accelerator on a massive space station is created, with the name ‘Cloverfield.’ If it really was humanity’s last chance, why did the ship have to be so big? It literally would have taken decades to build, which would present so many technological problems, including the original parts and design would have to be replaced after 10 years. The particle accelerator itself was not that big, which would be the only reason to have such a massive ship, as current particle accelerators are miles in length, (and circular). The ship design looked amazing, but the rotating elements were off-axis, which would not create the intended artificial gravity; also not necessary and adding to the size of the ship.

Cloverfield_ship.png

Perhaps “The Cloverfield Paradox” is that the use of alternative fuels would have negated the need for fossil fuels and deescalated any future “Oil Wars,” thus negating the need for this entire movie. Today, the military has prototype biofuel fighter jets that perform equally to fossil fuel jets. A biofuel commercial airline jet made its first transatlantic flight several years ago. Solar City solar panels, using Tesla batteries, powered an entire hospital last fall, as independent aid to Puerto Rico. Solar power plants already exist in the Nevada and Arizona deserts, not to mention countless wind farms around the world. I find it hard to believe, “humanity’s last hope” lies in an untested technological form of space particle accelerator energy generator, that feeds energy to the entire planet. And what was the plan to get the energy down to Earth? Beam it down like a satellite mobile phone signal? If so, would you have to wait for it to pass overhead to get power for your house or city? So many questions..

Solar_Power_Plant_Gemasolar

Back to the story.. and this is the worst part of this film, Donal Logue, an author, via tv broadcast, to the Cloverfield space ship bridge command center, explains the tie-ins to all the Cloverfield movies: “the particle accelerator could open a door to another dimension and bring demons or monsters to Earth.” WHAT?! Why would you take ALL the anticipation and suspense away from the entire film? Also, why were you watching television 30 seconds before testing the device, with only fuel for three more test attempts), THE most important thing in human history? Was it for your Instagram Story?

DonalLogue_CloverfieldParadox

Well, now you know what’s going to happen and what will happen on Earth right after the accelerator fires up. Now it’s just wait and see as story unfolds, but wait, we’ll mislead you with scenes that distract from the main story like the arm scene didn’t need to be there. Unless Hamilton was going to use the arm to kill Mena at the climax of their fight scene; they even showed a close-up of the arm, eluding to it being used later in the fight scene, but it never was. Or, unless they were trying to say that that area in the ship was where the dimensions overlapped, but if so, there should have been more anomalies in that same area, like every anomaly, including the unexplained lake of water that appeared out of no where. If they were trying to say that “condensation” created the lake, then the weight of the mystery water would have thrown the station off balance long before the explosion of the magnetic/oxygen related  incident at the rotating gravity balancer. This magnetic anomaly would have made perfect sense if it was in the same location. The purpose of the oxygen scene was to get more energy to launch the particle accelerator, and was going to give them “just enough” energy to do that, but instead it just dropped the periscope thingy with blue lights, that, for some reason, needed to drop down to start the particle accelerator, instead of just being down all the time, it’s not like they needed the space, again, the ship was huge. And also somehow, the ship had tons of energy for the rest of the movie. They could have just had “weird stuff happens on the ship” and still have had it been cohesive in some way.

Cloverfield_Paradox_arm

People freaked out on Twitter over the ending, but you knew there were going to be giant creatures beginning with Donal Logue’s tv broadcast scene. Also, when husband looks out the window and sees explosions and hears fighter jets flying to the scene (yes, this could be the start of the “Oil Wars” mentioned previously, but not after Donal Logue). And again, when you see the shadow of the monster in the smoke over the debris. And again Again, in the bomb shelter (where was this? who built it? and how did a random doctor know its location? Was it on Yelp? Hey Siri, is there an abandoned bomb shelter and or bunker near me left unlocked with plenty of supplies that also has great cell reception?), when you heard giant foot steps above; what else could have made those exact sounds? And finally, when husband actually says, “You’re having her come back here [to Earth] to these THINGS,” right before you see the giant creature at the end.

Sheppard_Gyro_compass_motion

Through the use of the Sheppard Gyro Compass device, The Cloverfield space station, intending on creating unlimited energy, accidentally sends the crew to an alternate dimension. The scifi aspects hold up, sort of, when weird things happen and continue to happen without explanation, in a similar vein to ‘Event Horizon.’ I believe ‘Cloverfield Paradox’ was trying to say that when the original Cloverfield ship of original Earth jumped to a new dimension, the universe was trying to correct itself, with anomalies, because the ship did not belong to this new dimension. This wasn’t explained very well, in fact nothing was explained very well. So much so, that instead of establishing rules for the Cloverfield Universe, that were desperately needed (& were promised in promotional marketing), this movie basically says, “we did some stuff and now we can do whatever we want for future films, because none of it matters.” If you want people to become fans, set up rules so we have something to grasp to. As far as I can tell, the particle accelerator opened a dimensional gateway and let out giant monsters in every dimension, at different times. I can only assume that now, ‘Cloverfield’ and ’10 Cloverfield Lane’ took place in alternate dimensions and all future movies will have no tie-ins to previous films, and if they do, and a future sequel is not popular, they can simply hit command Z and undo the previous plot, citing that happened in another dimension, and has no relevance on a continuous plot line. ‘The Cloverfield Paradox’ was originally called, ‘God Particle,’ after the Higgs-Boson particle discovered at the Cern particle accelerator. Scientists have claimed the Higgs-Boson can explain the universe. Maybe they, Paramount with JJ Abrams, originally named it “God Particle,” so they could play God with the plot and never be accountable for anything that doesn’t work.

Speaking of giant monsters.. In the original ‘Cloverfiled,’ many of the monsters were just larger than human size, 8-10 feet tall(?) With the giant, “end boss” monster, half the size of New York buildings, that somehow Michael Jordon-jumped up and knocked off the head of the Statue of Liberty. Why? Because it made a great movie poster. The monsters, at the end of ’10 Cloverfield Lane’ were similar to the ones in ‘Cloverfield,’ but more like aliens, with chemical weapons and the technology to build a mothership capable of invading other planets. OR, maybe the aliens driving the mother ship were creatures we haven’t seen yet, who traveled through the dimensional gateway and unleashed the creatures on Earth in every timeline (I’ll take a story credit for the next Cloverfield movie Paramount). When you finally see the giant Cloverfield monster, at the end of ‘Cloverfield Paradox,’ it is so huge, it’s head is above the cloud layer. That is way bigger than Godzilla, in fact, according to science, the cloud layer, as depicted in that scene, ranges anywhere from 6000 to 20,000 feet, and the clouds depicted in that scene, cirrus above cumulus, form at a minimum of 20,000 feet and usually much higher. The weight of such a creature would have easily crushed the underground bunker from the previous scene.

Cloverfield_1stmovie_giant_creature

And in that same scene, did the giant Cloverfield monster eat the escape capsule, from Cloverfield space station, thus negating the entire struggle of every character, of the entire plot, of the entire movie? Maybe not, it was hard to tell, and maybe the creature missed the capsule and it was the same capsule that landed in that unexplained scene from the original ‘Cloverfield’ film, or maybe these two events happened in two different dimensions, and these scenes were just edited together, like Westworld timelines (which is another JJ Abrams project)? If the intention of this Paradox, a convoluted and unsupported plot line which was created merely to rub people the wrong way and get them to complain about this film online, generating enormous social media buzz, then, success.

This movie had a lot of potential. I love the actors, the acting, the incredible sets, the amazing cinematography, the flawless FX, but the story just had so many issues. I would have loved to have seen events in the future create events in the past, or something similar; just better scifi than the muddled story we were given.

2a01e5f2-19ec-4c14-bb84-f6e3f87f598d-cloverfield-paradox-trailer-netflix

Would I recommend ‘The Cloverfield Paradox’ and should you watch it? It’s better than many other movies currently on Netflix, and is even better than many films released in the theaters, despite everything I’ve just mentioned. Also, ‘The Cloverfield Paradox’ is better than anything currently on network television, so yes, I would recommend it, and yes, you should watch it (if you love scifi and don’t mind many, many unanswered questions, and major plot holes).

Here is the best of list of scifi movies film on the year of 2017, in theaters and direct to streaming online, via netflix or pay per watch websites, like google play or amazon (or even itunes, hulu, etc). There are many “b-rated” science fiction movies that do not appear on this list of best sci-fi movie of the year. If you have any suggestions of movies that you loved, that came out this year, in movie theater cinemas or online, please let me know; I’m always up for watching more scifi. As always, there are several categories of movies: 1. Must Watch in the theaters 2. Will wait to pay per watch (google play, amazon pay, itunes, etc.) 3. Wait for netflix (or hulu or whatever) 4. Watch if there’s nothing else on (tv, netflix, etc); often it is up to you to decide what category this year’s movies fall into.

Hopefully there are a few scifi movies on this that you may not have seen in theaters or streaming online and you now have more to watch as this year ends and another year begins. Happy New Year!

#TeenTitans #TheJudasContract #movie #review #Terra & more..

teen-titans-the-judas-contract-cast-600x338-227248-1280x0This animated film is very well done and continues in the same universe as ‘Son of Batman’ and ‘Justice League vs Teen Titans.’ Not for all ages cartoon, due to cursing and violence. ‘Teen Titans: The Judas Contract’ is an adapted version on the 1984 comic of the same name, with a few tweaks to the story that fit with the characters & current Teen Titans team. It helps to have a solid base for the characters and build-up to the story, ‘The Judas Contract,’ otherwise this film might seem a bit out of place. It seems incomplete to have a great story about the Teen Titans and not to have Cyborg. Limited research showed that this was due to Warner Bros wanting to have Cyborg solely associated with The Justice League for the upcoming live-action movie than with the animated Teen Titans. Cyborg has appeared in this animated film universe before, like ‘JusticeLeague: Doom’ & ‘Teen Titans vs Justice League’ movies, but as a member of The Justice League. So I guess Warner Bros have decided Cyborg is Justice League only, which is too bad, because he is such a crucial member of Teen Titans. ‘The Judas Contract’ story first appeared in animation on the ever popular Teen Titans cartoon, which is still a great, light-hearted series.

Terra_09My main problem with this animated feature was the Terra storyline. It felt wildly inappropriate to have a young teenager (13?), Terra, wanting to date a 55 year-old man, Deathstroke; I just felt weirded out with every scene. Were they actually sleeping together? Did I miss that? Even creepier, WTF DC? But I guess since it was in the comics it makes it somehow OK? Nope, still not OK.

Terra_and_Slade4

Terra_and_Slade2

4231760-deathstroke+and+terra..ew

(Spoilers) Towards the end, it would have been nice to see Terra turn around & attack Slade, motivated by her own moral compass, saving the Titans at the last moment, instead of solely acting out of revenge, focusing only on killing Deathstroke, all while not caring for the well being of The Titans at all. She could have at least made them a tunnel to the surface, protecting the Titans from the collapsing underground cavern Temple of the Brother Blood Cult. Also, there was no clear explanation of how exactly The Titans escaped this disaster.

maxresdefault (1)Deathstroke returns (spoiler) as the main villain. You may remember he was killed by Damian at the end of ’Son of Batman,’ which was poorly done, by the way. Deathstroke shot at Damien several times, from just 20 feet away, and missed every time! In the comics, Deathstroke, with the help of the serum, gave him metahuman abilities, like shooting The Flash in the knee, as Barry was running full speed. There’s absolutely no reason Deathstroke should have missed at such close range. Anyway, Deathstroke has since been revived from the dead, with the use of Lazarus Pits, and appears in this animated film to exact his revenge on Damien. I think it would have been easier to have just shot Damien with a sniper rifle, but Slade chose an elaborate plan, with years of preparation, bringing the rest of the Titans down at the same time, all while getting paid for it by Brother Blood instead.

asdStarfire was, again, over sexualized & it is a bit odd, that the leader of the Titans, Starfire/Kori, no longer lives in the Tower; seems like bad leadership skills, which was a recurring theme in this film.

pre_TitansIt was great to see Bumble Bee in the beginning flashback sequence and it’s exciting that Wonder Girl, Donna Troy, will be joining The Titans in future DC animated movies (spoilers).

Wonder_Girl_Donna_Troy3CONCLUSION: ’Teen Titans: The Judas Contract’ was a good film & you should WATCH IT; I just wish Terra’s storyline was better crafted. IMPORTANT NOTE: There’s an end credit scene, so watch through the credits.

#Geek #TV #Schedule #Listings 2017

geek_tv_schedule_winter_spring_2017

geek_tv_schedule_winter_spring_2017

Every TV cycle (season, half season, quarter season..) there is increasingly more geek tv options to watch. This is great for geeks. I remember a time when only one or two shows a week graced the geek genre and everything else was cop-lawyer-doctor drama. BUT..are there too many options? Nope. We have the agonizingly bad geek tv shows like the Shannara Chronicles-why are you making a season 2 Mtv? Is it another attempt to once again avoid airing music videos? We have shows like Supergirl, which I LOVE loved in season 1, but now has become more like Arrow once it crossed over to the CW; I still like it, but without the Kat Grant dynamic, it lacks the female empowering aspect and focuses more on Kara having to prove herself in a man’s world. Also, major plot errors and too many superheroes? Did I just say that? I wish it was less like Arrow, with flashy gimmicks, and focused more on a better story.

riverdale-poster1TV Shows I LOVE love this season are RIVERDALE (it’s just beautiful to watch; maybe the cinematography will wear off & be less appealing, but after 3 episodes, I love it), and THE MAGICIANS (you just keep getting pulled deeper into the plot, with no signs of slowing down). Although the Santa Clarita Diet (netflix) was similar to iZombie, it was enjoyable to watch and VERY FUNNY. I enjoyed Legion, but not as much as Fox advertised I would. I will continue to watch it of course, and hope more New Mutants besides Canonball grace the screen, like Magik, but we may have to wait until the spinoff tv series, now proposed movie, New Mutants, promised in 2018. Yes, Fox still owns the broadcast rights to Marvel’s mutants; this is why Marvel has introduced The Inhumans on Agents of SHIELD.

magicians_trioAnd don’t forget about Geek TV on streaming networks, like Netflix, Crackle and Amazon; ok, mostly just Netflix, but SuperMansion is one of the funniest things online or television (I would have added Rick and Morty season3, but no one knows its air date:/

#CEYLONS Invade #Marvel’s #AgentsofSHIELD with #LMD’s!

number_six_tricia_helferagents-of-s-h-i-e-l-d-third-arc-season-4-lmdYes, LMD’s (Life Model Decoy’s) were first, created by Marvel in the Nick Fury comic books, beginning in 1965, but the appearance of LMD’s on ABC’s Agents of SHIELD are too similar to the Ceylons replacing humans on Battlestar Galactica, (so says an online majority). Do viewers really care about origin or history? Or is it more about who made it first to television or movies? I think the latter is true, unfortunately. There is a lot of talk online about how Agents of SHIELD is “copying Battlestar Galactica” and how the Marvel television show is “unoriginal.” But these comments, I’m guessing are from those who are either too young to remember what came before or those new to geek culture. There was a time, in our not too distant past, when Marvel movies sucked, but it’s all we had, so we watched them anyway. I’m talking specifically about David Hasselhoff’s Nick Fury movie.

Yes, unfortunately, that was a real thing. Worse than the 1990 Captain America movie and Dolph Lundgren’s Punisher movie, David Hasselhoff brought LMD’s to small screen (it was a tv movie).

145216_1175-400x600Agents of SHIELD is bringing android copies of humans, with their original’s memories, back to tv, while the originals waste away in a Darkhold version of The Matrix. Even though these are redundant themes, the writing of the show is still pretty solid and interesting enough to race home to watch it live on tv. I can’t say that for every tv show of 2017, I’m talking to you CW.
